Statement
During a time when I wandered in search of colors that defined me, I unexpectedly encountered pixels. Pixels became the perfect medium to express my stories—simultaneously capturing the nostalgic “past” filled with things I loved and the animated “future” I envisioned. I initially explored various digital expressions, from illustrations to animations, within the digital realm. However, through the experience of exhibitions, I challenged myself to expand pixels beyond the online space and into physical environments. This journey not only shaped the content of my work but also made the process of transforming digital imagery into tangible forms an exciting part of my artistic expression. The unexpected errors that emerged in what seemed like routine processes became sources of inspiration, leading me to express them as artwork. Through my work, I seek to open new perspectives on the everyday, encouraging audiences to explore different ways of seeing the world.

주재범 작가는 자신을 정의할 색을 찾기 위해 방황하던 중, 우연히 픽셀을 만났다. 픽셀은 그의 이야기를 표현하기 위한 완벽한 매체가 되었다. “과거" 어린 시절에 사랑했던 것들로 가득 찬 향수와 이미지로 구상했던 생동감 넘치는 “미래"를 동시에 담아낼 수 있었다. 처음에는 디지털 세계의 일러스트레이션부터 애니메이션까지 다양한 디지털 표현을 시도했다. 그러나 오프라인 전시를 경험하면서 픽셀을 디지털 공간을 넘어 물리적인 환경으로 확장하는 도전을 하게 되었다. 이 여정은 작가의 작품의 서사를 형성할 뿐 아니라, 디지털 이미지를 물리적인 형태로 변형하는 과정이 작가의 예술적 표현에 대한 흥미가 되었다. 예상치 못한 오류들이 일상적인 과정에서 발생했을 때, 그것들은 영감을 주는 원천이 되었고, 그것들을 작품으로 표현하게 되었다. 작가의 작업을 통해 일상에 대한 새로운 시각을 열고, 세상을 바라보는 다양한 방법을 탐구하도록 하고자 한다.
